En mi formación se han cruzado el interés por los procesos de desarrollo individual de niños y adolescentes, y la perspectiva más promocional de la psicología educacional. De esta forma, mis líneas de investigación siguen una perspectiva de desarrollo individual desde la perspectiva socioemocional, pero considerando que dicho desarrollo se da en relación con otros y en contextos sociales específicos. Considerando lo anterior los marcos teóricos referenciales que organizan mi trabajo son en primer lugar el enfoque ecológico de Bronfenbrenner, la perspectiva del desarrollo de la psicología positiva, y aspectos vinculares y grupales de la psicología del desarollo.

Lo anterior se concreta en mis áreas de interés, que en primer lugar se relacionan con el desarrollo social y emocional de niños y adolescentes en los contextos en los cuales se desenvuelven. Así, por una parte el foco está puesto en las relaciones interpersonales que se establecen entre pares, así como con profesores y otros adultos, y por otra parte en la manera en que dichos contextos se organizan y estucturan para favorecer dicho desarrollo.

Relacionado con lo anterior una segunda área de interés es la violencia escolar, tomando como perspectiva el hecho que la violencia, como comportamiento social, tiene sentido, significado, y cumple una función para los niños y adolescentes. En este sentido, un enfoque centrado en el desarrollo de competencias socioemocionales, y en la construcción de espacios escolares seguros y nutritivos resulta esencial.
